Bushehr plant provides over 1,000 MW of electricity in 160 days: Official

The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant produced 1,025 megawatts of electricity in recent 160 days, said Chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami.

The power plant is located 17 kilometers southeast of the city of Bushehr along the Persian Gulf coast in southwestern Iran. It became operational in 2011 and reached its full capacity the following year.

He noted that the power plant is currently contributing to national power grid with a utility frequency of 50 hertz, reported ana.press.

“So far, the first unit of the power plant has produced 54 billion kilowatts of electricity into the network,” Eslami said.

The official added that the first unit of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is one of the most stable and efficient electricity generators in the country.
