The 11th Bangalore Short Film Festival (BSFF), which is slated to be held in India from August 4 to 14, will host five Iranian films.

Farnoosh Abedi’s ‘The Sprayer’ and ‘Piece of Solitude’ by Elaheh Qomshei will take part at the Animation Section of the festival, ISNA reported.

The Iranian short film, ‘The Smell of Dialogue,’ directed by Fariba Heidari, will participate in the International Competition Section.

‘Makeup’ by Ayoub Teymouri, and ‘Dribble’ by Ali Lavari Monfared and Nazafarin Hassanpour are other Iranian contenders in the event.

The 11th edition of the festival is a movement to recognize and popularize the works of young and experienced filmmakers from across the India and world. The humble journey of BSFF began in 2012 to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema and to salute the contribution of the Kannada film industry towards the development of cinema in India.

The festival provides a platform to aspiring and professional filmmakers for showcasing their talent with networking and marketing opportunities in the film industry.

The festival’s objective is to promote upcoming filmmakers, develop sources of revenue generation for short films and to turn short film creation into a commercial enterprise.
