The Iranian Armed Forces are committed to meeting demands in the country’s strategic and infrastructure sectors, said a top general.

Making the remark during his visit to an exhibition of the Defense Ministry’s achievements and capabilities, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri added the domestic defense industry is a pioneering sector and progressing based on cutting-edge technologies, Mehr News Agency reported.

He added the technology-based products and achievements displayed at the expo are the result of the spillovers of the capable domestic defense industries, which can be also used in other industrial sectors.

Major General Baqeri described the domestic defense industry as a multifaceted sector that is capable of contributing to efforts in other fields.

He gave the assurance that the Iranian Armed Forces welcome with open arms cooperation with other domestic sectors and organizations, expressing hope that such collaborations would be fostered day by day to accelerate the country’s development in all sectors.

The top general added the Defense Ministry achievements showcased in the exhibition are proof that despite all-out sanctions on Iran, the country has managed to reduce its reliance on other countries.

Iranian military experts and engineers have in recent years made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a broad range of homegrown equipment, making the Armed Forces self-sufficient.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, censuring enemies for questioning the country’s missile program.
