Iran, Lebanon discuss expansion of cultural cooperation

Iran’s cultural officials had a meeting with Lebanese Minister of Information Ziad Makari and discussed ways to expand cultural cooperation.

Komeil Baqerzadeh who was appointed by the head of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, Mehdi Imanipour, as Iran’s new cultural attaché in Lebanon, and his predecessor Mohammadreza Mortazavi attended the meeting in Beirut, according to IRNA.

Discussions touched on the current cultural situation and bilateral relations between the two countries, and the possibility of reviving agreements in the field of media and activating joint cooperation.

The meeting also discussed the means to revive agreements previously signed between Lebanon and Iran in the field of audio-visual media, as well as developing executive programs for these agreements and MoUs.

Makari expressed hope that joint media agreements between Iran and Lebanon will be revived by developing joint programs.

Lebanese and Iranian officials also highlighted the need for expansion of unity among Muslim countries.

Managing the compilation of strategic cultural documents of the Islamic Republic with regard to Iraq and Syria and managing the publication of the collection of works of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Arabic under the title, ‘Dar al-Thawra al-Islamiyah,’ are seen in Baqerzadeh’s new career.

For the last five years, Baqerzadeh has been working as the Arabic-African director of the Office for the Preservation and Publication of the Works of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
