The ceremony was attended, among others, by members of the Pakistani community in Iran and officials of the country’s embassy.
During the event the messages of the Pakistani president, prime minister and foreign minister on the occasion were read out.
In an address to the ceremony, Pakistani Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi paid tributes to the founding fathers of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Dr. Allama Iqbal as well as other leaders who led the Pakistan movement and offered sacrifices for the creation of an independent Muslim state.
He stressed that Pakistan and Iran are two fraternal nations whose relations are deeply rooted in historical, cultural and religious commonalities.
