The Iranian and Iraqi nations stand together honorably and help one another in the path of constructing the two countries and achieving glory and greatness for Islam, said Tehran’s mayor.
Alireza Zakani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Karbala Governor Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi and his accompanying delegation in Tehran, expressing hope the two countries would become closer day by day, Mehr News Agency reported.
He added that when Iranians travel to Karbala, they completely feel that they are at home, stressing that the link between the Iranian and Iraqi nations is unbreakable.
Zakani, however, warned against hostile bids by the two nations’ enemies to harm the close link and relations between Iran and Iraq.
He said at a meeting in Karbala earlier, the Tehran Municipality informed the other side of its diverse capacities, expressing its willingness to provide, in the form of joint cooperation, the Iraqi city with services in the fields of transportation as well as waste and urban management and the techno-engineering sector.
Zakani gave assurance that Tehran will completely share its experiences in the field of urban management with the people of Iraq and Karbala.
