Iran’s Drug Control Headquarters‎ (DCHQ) said the Islamic Republic’s anti-narcotics police have arrested two foreign nationals smuggling cocaine from Latin American states into the country, smashing the international ring. ‎

Elaborating on the operation, Colonel Majid Karimi, the DCHQ head, ‎added after learning about the criminal activities of the drug trafficking ‎and transit ring, the country’s anti-narcotics police, through exchanging information with the police of a state located on the band’s transit route to Iran, placed ‎the seizure of the foreign smugglers on their agenda, Mehr News Agency wrote.

He said the Iranian anti-‎narcotics police forces arrested the two foreign nationals who sought to smuggle over six ‎kilograms of cocaine valued at close to $414,000 into the country through Imam Khomeini International ‎Airport thanks to their vigilance and constant intelligence monitoring.
