Iran’s captain, setter and opposite spiker were selected among the best players of the group stage of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship.
The Iranian side’s skipper and wing spiker Milad Ebadipour, setter Mohammad-Taher Vadi and opposite spiker Amin Esmaeilnejad were the country’s three players selected by the FIVB, IRNA wrote.
Iran went through to the Round of 16 in the tournament on the back of two wins against Argentina (3-2) and Egypt (3-1). The Iranian side, however, conceded a 1-3 defeat to the Netherlands in its last group stage match to finish in second place and see powerhouse Brazil as its next rival. Iran will travel to Gliwice, Poland, to play the Brazilian side on Tuesday.
The Netherlands will next play Ukraine.
At the end of the group stage, Iran moved down one spot to the eighth place in the latest FIVB World.
