IME weekly trade tops $464m

The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) announced that over 1.97 million tons of commodities worth over $464 million were traded in its domestic trading and export halls in the week closing on September 9.

A total of 1.65 million tons of various products, worth about $274 million, were traded at IME’s domestic and export metal and mineral trading hall, reported on Saturday.

Among the traded products were 304,284 tons of steel, 90,000 tons of iron ore, 103,500 tons of sponge iron, 24,945 tons of zinc, 10,010 tons of aluminum ingots, 5,200 tons of copper, 200 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 25kg of gold and 1.12 million tons of cement.

In addition, 309,826 tons of various commodities, valued at about $181 million, were traded at IME’s domestic and export oil and petrochemical trading halls.

Other traded items were 95,246 tons of polymeric products, 43,680 tons of vacuum bottom, 25,000 tons of lube cut, 34,499 tons of chemical products, 1,000 tons of sulfur, 4,083 tons of base oil, 1,050 tons of insulation and 105,099 tons of bitumen.

The IME was set up in 2007 in accordance with Article 95 of the Law of the Securities Market of the Islamic Republic of Iran, following the merger of agricultural and metal stock exchanges of Tehran.
