Iran on Monday rejected “baseless” reports on its drone delivery to Russia for use in the war with Ukraine.
The denial was made by Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani during his weekly press conference in reaction to recent reports and positions adopted by some Ukrainian officials about the Russian Army’s use of Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the war in the European country, mfa.gov.ir wrote.
Since the eruption of the conflict, said the spokesman, Iran has always expressed its principled and clear policy of maintaining active neutrality as well as opposition to war and highlighted the necessity of resolving the differences between the two sides through political methods sans violence.
To these ends, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has, over the past months, stressed the necessity of resolving the dispute through peaceful approaches and dialogue in numerous meetings and phone calls with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts, voicing the Islamic Republic’s readiness to contribute to the process.
