Storytelling, tool to improve quality of life: IIDCYA head

IRNA – The results of religious and scientific research indicate that storytelling strengthens imagination and listening, enhances learning, is entertaining, and is also a means of expanding the vision of children and adolescents and their communication skills, according to the CEO of the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA).

Hamed Alaamati made the statement during the award-giving ceremony of the 24th International Storytelling Festival on November 21.

People become adventurous, and learn how to discover the world by telling stories, he said, adding that despite the fact that technology is used in all areas of life, storytelling is still a popular art.

The IIDCYA’s deputy director in cultural affairs said that storytelling activities are of high significance at provincial, regional and international levels.

He added that the festival is one of the most social festivals in Iran because families, instructors and experts are all participating in it.
