Milad Tower to host Islamic nations' Ashura rituals

Tehran's Milad Tower will host a music performance on November 29 and 30 to mark Ashura tragedy.

The performance aims to increase public knowledge about the rituals performed on the Day of Ashura, the tenth of the lunar month of Muharram on which Imam Hussein (PBUH) and members of his household and loyal companions were martyred in plains of Karbala in Iraq.

Afzal Imani from Pakistan and Qasem Bastam from Lebanon will recite elegies on the innocence of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his companions, IRNA reported.

The performance will also feature Ashura rituals pertaining to other nations such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Tajikistan and India.

The ambassadors of these countries to Iran will also attend the concert.
