Iranian Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts Ali-Asghar Mounesan referred to Norouz (Persian New Year) as cultural diplomacy which has the greatest cultural role in the spread of peace and bringing nations together.
Spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry Saeed Khatibzadeh on Monday described Norouz, the Persian New Year which starts on March 21, 2021, as a cultural event being celebrated by many nations in the region.
The purpose of a Norouz Diplomacy meeting is to review the existing ideas on the path of cultural convergence of countries celebrating Norouz, said the director general of Public Diplomacy of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
Norouz, the traditional Iranian festival of spring celebrated by millions of people in Iran and other countries, including Pakistan, offers an opportunity for Iranian and Pakistani people to come closer and further strengthen their cultural ties.
The Indian Ambassador to Iran Gaddam Dharmendra hailed all commonalities between Iran and India especially the cultural ones and said Norouz is regarded as a great platform to bring two nations closer.
