The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) of Iran said it has invited bids for the construction of 4,000 megawatts (MW) of solar power plants as part of a drive to increase its use of renewable energy and boost the country’s power grid.

A sum of 415 solar power plant units with a total capacity of 2.4 megawatts (MW) were launched across Iran over the past two months, said the spokesman of the country’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA).

Iran’s renewables industry needs more supports to reach the desired level of development, said director general of the Office of Economic, Social and Environmental Studies at Iran’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA).
