A tender and unexpectedly funny story about a family’s road trip through the twisting desert highways and misty green valleys of northwestern Iran won the most prestigious prize at this year’s BFI London Film Festival.
The Iranian film, ‘Careless Crime,’ directed by Shahram Mokri, will compete at the Scratches Section of the 19th edition of the Doclisboa International Film Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, from October 21 to 31.
Iranian artists and filmmakers, using the transcending Islamic culture, are not only the educators of the generations who resist the dominant powers, but will have a leading role in the reconstruction of the new Islamic civilization, moving towards excellence and progress, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili said.
Iranian drama, ‘Ballad of a White Cow,’ directed by Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moqaddam, was granted special mention at the 17th edition of Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) in Switzerland, from September 23 to October 3.
Iranian film ‘The Ocean behind the Window,’ directed by Babak Nabizadeh, won the Grand Prix in the competitive section of the Zero Plus International Children's and Youth Film Festival, known as Zero Plus, in Tyumen, Russia.
