The Iranian Navy has dispatched the Alborz destroyer and the Khark logistics ship — the country’s largest — to the high seas on a routine combat, reconnaissance and training mission aimed at safeguarding international shipping routes.
The naval force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) unveiled a missile site at an undisclosed location, which hosts various types of advanced ballistic and cruise missiles, and also took delivery of modern warfare systems and hardware, media reports said.
The Iranian Navy is set to receive the country’s largest-ever military vessel, an indigenously-manufactured helicopter carrier outfitted to take on momentous logistical responsibilities in support of the defense force’s maritime missions.
Iran’s naval forces are on full alert and in complete control of the Persian Gulf waters and the Sea of Oman against any external provocations, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Navy said on Monday.
Latest surveys have indicated that forces, systems and equipment of the naval units of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) are at the desired level of readiness to protect territorial waters as well as national interests and security, said the commander of the IRGC Navy.
