China’s aluminum sector must shut dedicated power capacity equivalent to more than Germany’s entire coal fleet over the next decade to keep Beijing on track to meet its carbon pledges, climate think tank Ember said.
Since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 2020), a sum of 1,445 megawatts were added to the capacity of thermal power plants across the country, said the director of planning at the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company.

Seven major thermal power projects worth over $3.5 billion will come on stream in Iran by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2021), said the head of Iran’s Thermal Power Plant Holding (TPPH).
The share of solar power plants in Iran’s renewable electricity generation capacity hit 49 percent, according to the data released by Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, known as SATBA.
