Pakistan rejects allegations about Kabul hotel attack
Pakistan has rejected ‘knee-jerk allegations’ by some Afghan circles concerning the attack on Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul.

In a tweet, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal stated that there was a need for credible investigation into the attack, including a report on the security lapses, IRNA reported.

“We reject the knee-jerk allegations by some Afghan circles to point the finger at Pakistan for the terrorist attack on intercontinental hotel in Kabul,” he said.

Earlier foreign ministry of Pakistan in a press statement had strongly condemned the brutal terrorist attack at the hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan.

 “We express deep grief and sorrow at the loss of precious human lives and the injuring of many others in this terrorist act,” it said.

The statement added, “We reiterate our strong condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”

It further read that cooperation among the states is important for effectively combating and eliminating the scourge of terrorism.

The attack which started late on Saturday claimed the lives of scores of people, according to unofficial sources. Afghan forces reportedly killed two terrorists.

The attackers started with a blast which caused electricity disconnection, Afghan security forces said. The hotel was hosting Chinese investors when it came under attack.
