This was announced by Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammadreza Ashtiani during a visit by Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qassemi on Saturday to an industrial building factory affiliated to the Defense Ministry, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Brigadier General Ashtiani added the factory manufactures prefabricated steel buildings with modern technologies at an industrial scale.
Voicing the Defense Ministry’s readiness to assist the Roads and Urban Development Ministry in implementing housing projects, the minister said the average lifespan of the new buildings has been increased from 30 to 100 years.
The buildings constructed using new methods are more resistant to strong earthquakes and can be completed in only six months – six times sooner than what it takes to finish them employing ordinary techniques, he added.
The Defense Ministry is prepared to provide other involved domestic institutions and organizations with the technology of industrial construction of buildings, the minister noted.
“We have the capability to establish such factories at any given place and with any required capacity.”
