Iran slams deadly terror attacks in Afghanistan
Iran has strongly condemned twin suicide attacks in Afghanistan’s Kabul and Ghor, which claimed the lives of dozens of worshipers at mosques.

In a Friday statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi expressed sympathy with the Afghan government and nation and offered condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks, MNA reported.

“Savage terrorists and ignorant Takfiris who have faith in nothing and do not know anything about humanity once again targeted the oppressed and innocent people of Afghanistan with their blind and loathsome attacks,” he said.

"The sole objective of these terrorists is to cause religious rifts and deepen insecurity in the neighboring country of Afghanistan," Qasemi added.

The Iranian diplomat stressed, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will stand by the resisting government and nation of Afghanistan until the complete eradication of violence, crime, terror and insecurity there in spite of the opposition of some trans-regional powers."

More than 60 people have been killed and dozens more wounded in two separate attacks on mosques in Afghanistan on Friday. Condemning the two mosque attacks, the Afghan president said in a statement that the terrorists will not achieve their evil purposes and sow discord among the Afghans. There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the attacks.
