Iran, Azerbaijan ministers say bilateral ties promising
Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami and Azerbaijani Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade described the future of bilateral relations as promising and growing.

Eslami and Guluzade expressed hope that with the eradication of the coronavirus in near future, Iran and Azerbaijan will resume normal relations, Fars News Agency reported.

"We must work together to improve ties," Eslami said.

"Given the numerous fields of cooperation in roads, transportation and other relevant areas, we can help strengthen cooperation between the two countries," he added.

Guluzade, for his part, expressed pleasure that the new technologies have come to the aid of humanity in tough conditions of the coronavirus pandemic and prevented the cessation of cooperation between countries, saying, "We should try to reinforce good, brotherly and friendly relations."

Earlier this month, Joint Technical Commission of Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic reviewed the two countries’ cooperation in the field of electricity in a virtual meeting.

The online meeting’s main topic revolved around the construction of 'Khoda-Afarin' and 'Qiz Qala'si dams by the two countries on Aras River.

Both sides also discussed the budget envisaged for the construction of the dams and equipment installation.

The agreement on the construction of Khoda-Afarin and Qiz Qala'si dams and power plants was signed by Azerbaijan and Iran in Tehran in 2016 and approved by the two countries' parliaments.
