Iran’s minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili said that examination of damages occurred for Iran’s arts and cultural community is on the ministry’s agenda.

He made the statement during his visit with Iran’s former culture minister Seyyed Abbas Salehi in Tehran, IRNA wrote.

In the last 18 months that the country has been fighting the coronavirus, all cultural activities of the country have been overshadowed and either closed or semi-closed, said the newly-appointed minister.

“We will complete the vaccinations of arts, culture, and media people, which began by Salehi and his colleagues,” he said.

“We will make efforts to reopen cultural activities as the coronavirus infections decrease,” he noted, explaining that our concern is to return the cultural atmosphere of the country to normal as soon as possible,” he added.

Speaking about the positive attempts made by the previous administration, Salehi said that one of the influential initiatives was “writing about experiences,” in which cultural officials wrote about four years of experience in film, audio and book forms.
